Third Ascent BACK ON CAMPUS TO TAKE Class Ring LETTER JACKET ORDERS!


Grades > 9-12

The 3rd Ascent Company will be  ON CAMPUS to take letter jacket orders on Thursday, November 9th during lunch periods.  Letter Jacket orders will need a $100 deposit and the student's letter they earned.  The 3rd Ascent Representative will be set up on the Zelle Patio.  There will be jackets to try on for sizing with cleaning protocols in place.  There will be other opportunities in the future to order in person!

Pre-K to 8 Thanksgiving Feast Information


Grades > Pre-K to 8

We invite you to join us on Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the Huffman Athletic Center’s Johnson Field House for our annual Thanksgiving Feast. We have a classic Thanksgiving spread planned, which includes turkey and dressing!

11:00-11:30   Fourth Grade 

11:10-11:40   Fifth Grade

11:40-12:10   Seventh and Eighth Grades

11:50-12:20   Sixth Grade

12:25-12:55   First and Second Grades

All 9-12 grade students are invited to apply for the crew or audition to perform in the Winter Musical 

CHICAGO: TEEN EDITION - No experience necessary!

Applications are due by 3:30 on Friday and have been sent to all student emails.

SAT Information for Saturday 11/4


Grades > 9-12

For those taking the SAT this Saturday, November 4, plan to arrive by 7:45 a.m. at the side door to Thatcher Hall. Testing will begin promptly at 8 a.m.

Bring the below listed items with you:

  • Admission Ticket
  • Acceptable ID
  • Calculator
  • Two #2 Pencils

Spring Break trip to Paris - The deadline has been extended!


Grades > 9-12

The cost for students is $4,809 and includes the following:

  • Airfare
  • Bus transportation
  • Hotels with private bathrooms
  • Two meals per day (breakfast and dinner)
  • Daily activities and tours
  • Day trip to Loire Valley
  • EF Tour Director (bilingual) travels with us the entire time
  • Guaranteed private tour (no sharing buses or rooms with other groups). If we get 30 students, the private tour fee is waived and drops the price of the trip by $1,000 per person.

Sign up by November 15 in order to avoid late fees! All payments are made through EF Tours. Please reach out to Carrie Eady if you have any questions.

 


Yale Young Global Scholars Summer Program Signups end January 10th

Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is a summer program hosted by Yale University. Its mission is to give young students, from different backgrounds between the ages of 15-17 years of age exposure to what they would like to pursue in their future careers. It consists of four academic programs which are; Innovations in Science and Technology, Literature Philosophy and Culture, Politics, Law and Economics, and Solving Global Challenges. There are 3 sessions during the summer months, which are all two weeks, giving you the Yale experience, including college and dorm life outside and inside the classroom. The deadline to apply for the program is January 10th, 2024. If you are interested there's also virtual info. sessions or feel free to email  kknowles@darlingotnschool.org

Floyd County Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program Registration Open Now until November 30th


Grades > 9-12

Our website is now accepting participants for the Floyd County Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program.  I have attached a poster with a QR code.

The program is free and is open to any 11th-grade young lady who attends school in Rome/Floyd County whether it be public, private, or homeschooled.  In our first year of having a local program in Floyd County, we awarded $2850 in cash scholarships to the class of 2024.  

We will be having a Zoom orientation on Thursday, October 19 at 8 pm. 

The Zoom link will be sent to those who have registered on the website.  The website will be open to new participants until November 30.  Our program will begin on January 8.  More information will be announced at the orientation.
